Code
2025 Fledge. FM synthesizer VST developed in C++ and JUCE. Supported by Faculty Development Fellowship.
2025 Sands. Max For Live device for reshaping sound by simulating and abusing old digital sampler technology. Models digital to analogue and analogue to digital converters of an 8-bit sampler with bit-matrix interface for patching individual bits. Co-developed with Takuma Matsui for Rainbow Circuit.
2025 Unfolds. Wave-unfolder Max For Live device featuring five instances of wave unfolding, stereo-widening comb filter and noise ring modulator. Co-developed with Takuma Matsui for Rainbow Circuit.
2024 The Path of Veins Part 1. Visual Novel developed in Unity. Includes 20 song original soundtrack, as well as dozens of bespoke ambiences and sound effects.
2022 Instructional Materials for Max 8. Ongoing development of 150+ Max patches to assist students in learning Max. Materials include generative sequencing, basic AI, simulated digital to analog converters, polyphonic synthesizers, and granular effects.
2021 Cassette and MP3 Codec Emulations. Designed audio cassette simulations and an emulation of the MP3 codec for dissertation research.
2021 Madness Suite. Created a suite of seven modules for VCV Rack, including chaotic oscillators, a vactrol simulation and a modeled lowpass gate. Oversaw the production of 13 videos detailing the functionality of modules in this set.
2020 Polymaths. Created a suite of four modules for VCV Rack. Ars Memorium, the primary module in the set, is capable of producing 16 arbitrary functions at once, and providing two-dimensional interpolation between saved states. All functions are mapped to X and Y coordinates—allowing for a wide range of audio applications including: patch preset design and interpolation, LFOs with user programmable shapes, sequences with an arbitrary number of steps, precise recall of complex feedback patches, dense glissando, quadraphonic panning and many other forms of linked, user-defined modulation.
2018 HarmSpat. Developed a vocoder/resynthesizer for distributing sounds in a 32 channel sound-sculpture by artist Greg Sullo. Sounds are analyzed/resynthesized and sent to speakers mapped to a predefined portion of the audio spectrum. Band-pass filters can be tuned in real time for non-linear spatialization. Written in Max 8.
2017 Telharfauxnium. Designed and coded a free, open-source alternate firmware for the Music Thing Modular Radio Music eurorack synthesizer module. Firmware shown by the manufacturer at SuperBooth17 in Germany and distributed with the original firmware bundle.
